2010 DMI Artist Update: Part 4

Moving right along to a section of DC artists right now. After rapping up her run on the mini-series Terra, it conveniently lead to her next assignment on Power Girl. Power Girl is now Amanda Conner's character. After a great story working on her over in JSA: Classified, I've enjoyed her solo series and I hope both it and Amanda's work continues for the title for some time.

Lee Garbett's short story arc on what was a great restart for the Outsiders moved him over to start anew on another Bat title: Batgirl. He's been doing great over on her title too, the man can do no wrong. Still not a fan of other characters being tossed into limbo all the time in the DCU (i.e. Cassandra Cain), but that is to no fault of Mr. Garbett.

Guillem March just recent wrote and drew on the latest issue of Gotham City Sirens. Paul Dini will be back on regular writing duties come next issue, but congrats to Guillem for as he states on his blog, "very special issue to me. I´m satisfied as I´m not been since long ago with my work, though many people may consider this issue just another fill-in, and they are not wrong at all."

Thanks to all these artists again for helping me in my campaign. Again pointing out a nice run of DC books on the list, just giving props to the company that was my starter drug to this wonderful hobby of comics!

Tenth Appearance! Outsiders #18 by Lee Garbett!

In what is probably the quickest turn around time from point of contact to physically holding the comic in my hands, comes my tenth appearance in Outsiders #18 drawn by Lee Garbett.


And I totally missed it too!


In an e-mail he sent me at the end of March 2009 he said he'd, "pop [me] in as soon as the opportunity arises." At the earliest I've seen a three month turnaround from these sort of e-mails, pencils to print.


Two months later, a week after Outsiders #18 hit store shelves, I get an e-mail from Lee asking if I had caught myself in the issue. I had totally missed it sad to say.

Reaching Out... Josh Howard, Francis Manapul & Lee Garbett

I'm always adding new books to my pull list... which can get expensive, but such is this hobby of mine. As with Guillem March starting a run with Gotham City Sirens, I am looking forward to the starts of Josh Howard's new Image run of Dead @17 and Francis Manapul's run starting on Adventure Comics!

It's still early yet to determine any outcomes on these yet. But if either of them stop by here I'd just like to say, "Thanks for visiting!"

And also, while I'm updating this blog, I've also recently talked to Lee Garbett, current penciler on DC Comics Outsiders. He said, "I'll pop you in as soon as the opportunity arises".

So with many weeks of inactivity, I'm finally getting back to this, and getting responses too!

May also marks the 3rd year I've been doing this. So here's looking forward another great year! Good times!
